Question

My Samsung is fighting with Windows

Oct 10, 2012 9:05PM PDT

Hello All

This is the first time i have ever posted in a forum like this. So forgive me if this is old ground, i'm not in any way tech minded.

Just bought a new Samsung series 3 its very nice i like it, but it seems as if Samsung utilities' easy settings' are fighting with windows... for the first couple of weeks all was good. Then one day about two weeks ago on start-up my automatic connection to the internet stopped. Spent at least an hour trying to figure out what the hell was wrong, i found 'easy settings' are used that, it worked perfect. But easy settings doesn't seem to have a save as default mode (why?) so every time i start-up i go through the same routine every time, this didn't happen at the beginning, how do i bring harmony back?
Second i can't find the start folder, i want to stop Spotify and Steam from booting on start-up, can't find it anywhere, any hints as to what to do. I don't have the time to rummage around all over the place, got things to do.

Cheers
Rob

I don't know about the easy settings.

But for startup programs, run MSCONFIG, go to the Startup tab and see what runs at startup. Uncheck the programs you don't want running then.

Nothing changes

Hello Kees_B

I've done as you've said but there's been no change, Spotify and Steam still start up Twice. I get this message that Steam is already running and can only have one going at the same time. Same with Spotify.

I've taken both Spotify and Steam from the start-up, I've ticked every box but they still appear (twice) Its like they are already running before hand and when i start-up they clash. And as for the samsung easy settings, will they have truly beaten windows when i comes to automatic connection to the internet which lasts a few seconds before switching off making me go to the Easy Settings to put the thing back on, why the hell i can't save in 'Easy Settings' its just plain daft, but there you go.

I have steam

And it's not in ANY box to be ticked off. I simply removed the Steam shortcut from my Startup group and it's not there.

I can't guess what boxes you are ticking.
