My PS2 busted?

Mar 19, 2007 9:43PM PDT

Hey all.

I have had my PS2 for about two years now and just for the record I dont abuse it or anythin Silly

But just recently it started making odd clicking noises whenever I instert a disk and turn it on. Be it PS2 game, PS1 game or CDs, just this irritating sound and no play. If I have to clean it how do I go about it?

TIA

Callum

Can you tell if the disc is spinning? Sounds like your DVD drive might have gone out on you.

the disk is trying to spin but cant. But then again it could be the laser. The sound is so noisy I just cant tell. It has done this intermittently for about a month now, and has done it now and wont stop!

I simply left the machine on for a few hours with no DVD in. It warmed itself up and works once again to die another day!

I see the new, slimline PS2's are like $120.00. I still run the old wide body version but after I ripped out the stock fan and wired up a computer case fan in the back its almost as quiet as a slimline model and when it goes...I will have had gotten my money's worth out of it. I'd like to get a PS3, but the way things are looking it seems waiting is all i can do.

Or I could take a plunge to the dark side.
