Updates are coming...
Sep 30, 2010 12:22PM PDT

The profiles and various other parts of the site must be updated separately, so they will not display the latest posts for the time being. However, they will be updated soon, most likely early next week. Cross your fingers the engineers can get the updates out.

Don't you track threads?

I use tracking threads to keep an eye on discussions where there are new postings.

As John pointed out various parts of the site...
Oct 5, 2010 8:45AM PDT

that contain forum information like the CNET profiles have not been updated yet. We currently are in the process of doing a large site wide move and currently are in code freeze status--meaning no fixes or patches allowed unless it is an absolute critical fix, can go out. Other wise it going to have to wait till we are done moving.

Unfortunately the profile forum posts section will not get fixed until sometime near the 3rd week of October. Sorry Wayne, I wish I could speed it up, but at the moment there's a lot of fixes that need to go out, but because of the code freeze, our requests to deploy those fixes out are being denied.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. Your patience is appreciated.

Do you mean . . .

the conversion didn't go well? Or that there are still glitches? Geez!!! To whom can I complain??!! If it's still broken . . . Fix it!!!

LOL

Been there, done that, got the scars. No T-shirts available.

I would call it
Oct 5, 2010 8:38PM PDT

refining and tweaking. Install the new engine, connect all the pipes, get it running, and then start refining carburettor settings, spark plugs, timing, etc.

Of course with new cars nowadays and EMS, that's all out the window. Ahh, the old days...

Complaints? Take a number Wayne and get in line...
Oct 5, 2010 10:51PM PDT

I think your number is 56. Wink

As Mark points out below, we are in the break in period. In addition to the launch we are also in the middle of a big move. So it crazzzy busy here!

As much and as fast as I would like to fix all bugs and get deployed out ASAP, like I said we are stuck on a code freeze--and boy is it chilly Happy.

Just look at Mark and Kees, they are temporarily stuck with a different CNET account as a moderator. While we already have a fix in place for their account issues, we can't deploy the changes out till the move is over. Sad

The timing of the forums launch was delayed and unfortunately the timing of the launch couldn't come at a worst time because of the move. But you know what, so far (knock on wood) the forums have been up for a week and so far no major outstanding issues. Please keep your fingers crossed for us. We will be moving the forums soon--you all won't notice it, but we sure will.

Thanks for your patience Wayne and all the folks out there in the forums. We appreciate it.

Did Kees and Flax get the British treatment?

Wink

I suspect they ran afoul of some regional filtering?

Some changes have gone out...
Oct 6, 2010 12:22AM PDT

You'll notice that the 'latest forums posts' sections on various CNET pages now display the latest content here in the forums. Unfortunately, it looks like the profiles were not as lucky...as Lee noted, it's a waiting game until the updates can be pushed out. However, if we all get together and break that part of the site, they'll have no choice but to fix it and Lee can sneak that fix in along with it. What do you all say? Devil

What do you mean "if we all get together and break that...
Oct 7, 2010 2:53AM PDT

part of the site" , it only takes you and Mark to do that, you don't need others. Wink
