Question

My Pictures Are Gone .-.

Aug 28, 2015 5:32PM PDT

Ok, so I used the Snipping Tool on Windows 8 and saved like 7 pictures, and they can't be retaken. After navigating to the folder to preview them, I accidentally press Ctrl + Z, and the pictures were gone. I tried Ctrl + Y, but nothing happened. I can't find the pictures in the Recycle Bin either. Please help D:

Answer
Let's give "Previous Versions" a shot.

Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder you had the pictures in. Right-click the folder and click Properties. Now click the Previous Versions tab. Hopefully you'll see the pictures there.

Good luck.

I don't see the Previous Versions tab Sad

I looked up the Previous Versions tab, and realized it was some kind of recovery method, but the tab doesn't show up when I go to Properties D;

D: isn't a folder. What FOLDER were the pics in?

Also what version of Windows do you have? You won't have Previous Versions unless you have 7 or later.
`
When you've gotten your system back like you want it, I urge you to get yourself an external hard drive and a good 3rd party backup program. You can set it up to do everything automagically at the time and frequency of your choice. 1 TB external hard drives are about $50 these days and a really good FREE backup program is the Easeus Todo Backup Free. That can save you a lot of time and frustration the next time something like this happens. Sooner or later it happens to all computers for one reason or another.

Good luck.`

How to Make Backups
Aug 29, 2015 10:34AM PDT

Copy the picture file to a flash drive, external drive, or DVD. It's simple, easy, fast, and prevents these kinds of problems. If the picture is important, you put one copy on the computer, the other on a removable drive of some type. Here, we make AT LEAST two backups of all important files.

But if you didn't do it BEFORE this happened, you're out of luck.

Hope this helps.

Answer
just do a computer search

you may have saved them in the wrong folder, just do a computer search for all pictures. since you saved them you should know the extension so just do a *.jpg or whatever the extension was.
