Question

My pc refuses to reproduce any sound or media

Jun 4, 2019 12:39PM PDT

So basically since yesterday my pc is refusing to play any sound, i tried installing the drivers again and pretty much anything i could come up with or find online. It also doesn't play youtube videos but it buffers them so there is something blocking the playback(i also checked the console and it says ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT with a big red error). It doesn't play spotify songs but the desktop application boots up fine and shows me all the playlist images, but when i press play on a song it just stays at 0:00 seconds.
I'm starting to think that it might be a virus but i hope not, please help me!

Answer
There's not much detail here.

You posted a "it doesn't work" but left out all the PC details.

Maybe by any sound or media you also mean ALL PC SOUNDS and not just in a browser so that could be the speakers (which are unknown) are unplugged to something else entirely if the speakers are in a monitor and the volume in said monitor are muted.

Tell a lot more.

Let me explain
Jun 4, 2019 12:53PM PDT

Alright sorry, here are a few details
my pc is a laptop (Acer aspire e15 more precisely).
Everything worked perfectly till yesterday, i was playing minecraft and the sounds stopped working. At first i didn't even think about it and just kept playing but when i noticed i couldn't ear my friends on Discord i started worrying.
System sound do not work, it's not a faulty speaker because i already tried both wired and bluetooth headphones(spoiler alert, neither one plays any sound). I tried the "troubleshooting audio" but it doesn't even load(it just keeps loading, i've left it on for an hour and nothing happened).
Do you need any more info?

This does point to user error.

Since all sound is disabled you should try System Restore to when it worked.

But again, you pretty much have shared it doesn't work without details about what you see on screen such as the speaker in the system tray, muting and how adept you are with the Windows sound and speaker controls. It could be as simple as a setting to deeper like a need to go to Acer's web page for your PC to get and install laptop drivers.
