My PC reboots when I try to open an avi clip into netscape

Sep 29, 2006 9:17PM PDT

My PC system reboots all the time when I try to open an Avi movie clip into my Netscape browser.
Any one knows what to do or maybe there is a Quicktime player and wmplayer conflict?
Thank you. Michel.

I can do that.

I've found clips that cause PCs to reboot. It's usually a CODEC issue (since we have google.com and ask.com I decline writing about CODECs).

Find what CODEC the clip is using and update that.

I've never found this issue to be a Quicktime or wmplayer issue.

WIsh it was that simple. Here's why....

There are dozens of codecs out there and some will cause the machine to crash when combined with what version of video driver and directx.

There is no do this, click here cure. You need to reveal the .avi or link so I can see what the encoding is or else I can't supply a possible codec link.

You also need to keep up with the video driver and directx. This is something microsoft and nobody else is going to do for you.

What tool will I examine the video file with? GSPOT found with google.com

How might I download the video for examinations? KEEPVID (hint: google.com)
