My pc is so slow after downloading AVG Free

by margagietman / November 28, 2009 6:27 PM PST

Dear Ladies, dear Sirs,
When starting up my pc, it starts ratling for over 20 minutes, then all checks are done....!
But when I want to go on the internet, the ratling starts again and I have to wait for a couple of minites before I am on the Internet. What I do is opening Google first and then use the direct link of the site I want to open, this seems a little quicker way.
I use a 4 years old Compaq with Windows and Intell.
Can you please inform if it is possible to skip some of the AVG checks so it will all be a little quicker? I am not a freak but a regular quite basic user...

With thanks and regards

What Is Your OS && Serv.Pk#?
by tobeach / November 29, 2009 2:16 PM PST

AVG is not usable before XP SP2 & Win 2000(or older OS's).

Possibly conflicting w/ other installed or NOT COMPLETELY un-installed
A/V & A/S programs? List of such w/ removal tool/Links/instructions:
Additionally Spybot S&D & Ad-Aware conflict.

I believe the internet link scanner can be disabled or not installed to begin with. I Don't use AVG so others will know better. Happy

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
