Question

My PC is nearly full! will ext. hd still back up?

Jul 28, 2014 9:46AM PDT

HI. My pc has 1 TB of storage and is nearly filled. Tons of Photos.
I have a 3TB WD my Book that runs a continuous backup. I have a 500 MB my book that I want to attached to the desktop to give me the additional storage (via usb).
When I end up saving more new files/photos to the desktop will they automatically "overflow" to the 500 MB once the internal hard drive gets filled?

Also, since my 3TB is running a continuous backup, will it also backup the 500 MB automatically too? Thanks

Answer
I've yet to find this to be true.

For now almost all backup systems require some configuration. And for Windows, the answer is "NO", it does not automatically start using the other drives.

Many approaches to backing up

There are many approaches to backing up. It will be suggested that Get an external USB hard disk.Use an automated backup program like Macrium Reflect or an equivalent and back up everything (an image backup, as discussed above) to the external drive automatically on a daily or weekly schedule.
