If the correct driver is installed, and there are no errors in Device Manager, this can be caused by wrong settings (n the audio or in Windows, such as services not running) or hardware failures.
Going back to when it still worked (that's usually factory conditions, unless you installed Windows yourself) is the ultimate solution for anything but hardware failures.
A nice work-around is to buy another audio card or audio-USB-stick; those are around USD 5 and come with their own drivers.
