my "open with" stopped working.
is there a freeware to use instead of win7 "open with"?
nirsoft doesn't do the trick.

I spent hours searching & posting .
Finally , I ran across http://defaultprogramseditor.com/
The defaultprogramseditor is freeware and portable .
And it did the deed !

Hi,Boot the computer in the SAFE MODE. Turn off your computer, and turn it on backup then tap F8 continuously to get the windows advanced boot option, here you can see the SAFE MODE & SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING.

After you booted to the SAFE MODE or SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING access the windows security and change the settings.

If it didn't work means, you have to try repair option. "repair your computer" option will help you. In order to do that, first insert your OS disk into your machine and restart it, below the 'install OS" you can find option says "repair your computer".
