Question

My one-year old Vizio 55" won't get picture at startup

My Vizio 55" flat-screen suddenly does not "light up" when switched on. I can hear the sound of the current channel in the speakers, and can change channels...but no picture. The connections have all been checked, and I've also been helped by tech support to the point of unplugging the set and holding the ON button on for 45 seconds. Given that I'm just two weeks outside of my 1-year warranty, this is very disappointing. Any similar experiences out there, and any solutions available outside of hauling it in to repairman?
Thanks in advance for any assistance....

Answer
Did you try extending the warranty?

Many makers allow it but limit your repair call to 30 days later.

Re: warranty

Vizio said they only would honor 7 days beyond it's expiration Sad
I'm not interested in paying than much more money at all!

Then it's time for a shop to give an estimate.

That way you don't pay Visio. Here many have taken my advice on extending warranty BEFORE you call it in. You may have removed that option and will now get a big bill.
