My Newsletter Flagged as Phishing?

Aug 25, 2008 11:31PM PDT

Not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this questions, but I just started a newsletter yesterday and my emails are getting flagged for phishing by live, hotmail, and bellsouth.

I'm concerned it may be an issue with how our programmers have built our emailer to dispatch newsletters. Is this a possibility?

Any thoughts would be helpful.

It's possible

I'd have to see the newsletter but if there are ANY links in the letter then you will likely get labeled as a phisher or spammer.

Rather than send out a heavy graphic laden email why not a plain text link to your updated online newsletter?

If it sounds like an ad then more then likely it is an ad

Spam is often identified by keywords within the text. Wording is important to get by the spam filters. Don't make it read like an ad.

Try senderscore.org for Info on Black Listing
Aug 31, 2008 4:17PM PDT

Without getting into a deep discussion on spam and spam filters:

One possible suspect here is black listing - and the reputation of the mail server you are sending from.

To quickly and easily check your email reputation I suggest looking at:

http://www.senderscore.org.

Take a look - you may find something there. If not - you've ruled out a possible issue for black listing.
