MY NEW SONY SXRD LOOKS TERRIBLE

Oct 29, 2006 2:34AM PST

I just hooked it up with my s.d. cable box using componit cables Then you fools told me I had to upgrade to a hi-def system and spend $10.00 extra for hi-def service are you all crazy I expect all that wounderful hi-def service for free and you all know I cant afford $10.00 a month I cant even afford a outside antenna so I will take my set back and demand a refund. Yes We see these posts a lot here I have talked to salesman and they tell me the same story , The problem h-d t.v.s are getting so cheap that buyers think they are buying a toaster just plug it in then they ***** to us and refuse to spent a few bucks to upgrade please folks go get youraself a $100 walmart special you will be much happier have a nice sunday all have to go see n.a.s.c.a.r in hi-def with my rabbit ears with tin foil on one arm sometimes if I hold the rabbit ears just rite the picture really looks great steweeeeee

I'm seriously considering the 60XBR2. Is this for real, or just a lame attempt at a post??

Check out the dish 211 system You can order the basic package and for $15.00 extra you can order the hi-def package+VOOM It also has a very good over the air hi-def tuner I pick up 18 local digital channels 8 are in hi-def. Just hook it with a h.d.m.i. cable and you will be in hi-def heaven Yes this was a joke post , but the hi-def channels have such great programming Discovery h.d. theater t.n.t. e.s.p.n., h.d. net movies h.d.net and Voom has moster movies, classic movies, hi-def 24 hour rock and roll + much much more Plwase Please go for no kidding I love my dish network system and if you use the optical audio output the sound will be awsome, Also if you e-mail me I will give you a code # for free activation so your installation will be free and I receive $5.00 of my monthly bill I have given away 5 to my friends and they are all so happy You have such a beautiful t.v. and this would make your eyes pop out good day stewee

One thing CRTs are at the apex of the tech design.Mine has no flood lights within the flat screen box with fans to keep it cool. Nor color wheels with motors that may burn out as in the days of old. There is no need to worry about slightly bumping the screen or altitude or viewing angle and this is just to mention a few of the fantastic improvements of LCDS & Plasmas.

This cheap Sony I own has 1400 lines of horizontal resolution, three tuners. The pictures at 420i & 420p in my opinion are far superior to what I have witnessed at the big box and high end stores. I also keep revisiting them hoping I will see something better, so far nothing.

Oh one other good thing it will be very difficult for someone to steal this set, it weighs almost 200 lbs.

How about that Stwee I had to get even. Ho-Ho-Ho have a good Halloween.

Marc

I just god rid of my Sony 65" 3 tube monster on e bay for a louzy $650 and I will agree the picture was stunning But Sony could never get the convergance rite so I had a profesional align it at $650 it looked beautiful for about 6 months then went out of alignment again and user adjustments would not correct it also I could not get a bright picture if I cranked up the brightness and contrast the picture would bloom a bit, Iam so happy with my d.l.p. set razor sharp tons of brightness and color and after a year it still looks over the top also I dont think color wheels fans and lamps are an issue period I perefer to have a t,v that is reliable and trouble free happy holooween steweeee

I bought my Sony KDS-R50XBR1 last August, connected to TW cable digital DVR box and a Sony CD/DVD Player DVP-NS70H through HDMI cable and it is AWESOME. I almost spent 2k more on a Plasma-pioneer but my picture rivals ALL but the Very Hi End units. Well worth the money, and you can buy the same unit for 1k less today. Thats the price you pay for wanting the best first. No complaints..

Why pick on Sony?

I wonder why Stewee didn't entitle his post with "My Toshiba DLP looks terrible"? I think he has a deep-seated hate of Sony owners.Happy

Oct 30, 2006 4:30AM PST

OK I went generic, but there has been a lot of posts like this lately.
Now lets go back to the dawn of Hi-Fi stereo audio (about 195Cool you just got your new Stereo Hi-Fi and you play an old 78 rpm record on it, call the dealer and complain that it sounds terrible!!! The dealer says that you have play a 33 rpm stereo record on it to good stereo sound.
This is basically what is happening today with HDTV, many don't understand that getting HDTV will not make everything HD. John

You are obviously placing the CD's upside down on your turntable. The label side goes down, not up.

Mine all work fine on my Technics.
