My machine is infected. Memory being eaten up. Help!

My Vista machine started running very slowly a few weeks ago. Mcafee hadn't found anything so I scanned online with Eset, which found several trojan infections in Java, as the version was not the most recent. The infections were removed, system restore reset, the system restarted and then a further scan with Eset revealed no new infection. Java was updated, and then a Malwarebytes scan came up without any further issues.

Since then the machine keeps slowing down, with the process explorer showing the 2GB of Ram being eaten up by an unknown process, which can only be resolved by cutting the Internet connection and waiting for the Ram use to drop down from about 1.8GB to around 700Mb.
