my luck

I have a inspiron 5100 laptop
1g ram
160 hd, had a 80g.
Windows sp2
I replaced the 80g with the 160g. Reinstalled windows and worked ok. I turned it off and about 2hr later turn it on, and right after the windows logo it said can?t find operating system, turn it off and on 3 times and it loaded windows. every time it is turned off it has to be turn off and on up to 5 times before windows will load. I did another install and the same thing. I put the old hard drive back in, same thing, it did not do this before.
Thanks for any help.
