MY laptop will not boot up - possible BIOs problem

After Installing Microsoft's beta Spyware. My Laptop was working fine until i turned it off. Once i went to start the machine up again it went into a startup loop. i would load up to the XP symbol, them blue screen and start to laod again. Initially i could get to the bios. However now i have loaded the laptop up several times to try to get it working, it now doesnt even get that far. The power light comes on, there is a beep and then nothing. Do I need to reset BIOS? If so, how would I go about doing that without actually going in to the BIOS. I dont think my motherboad is shot, because I recieve the annoying long beep if I take my RAM out. I have tried changin the cmos battery as suggested by a friend but that didnt help. I need Help!
