What a good tech can do is to wire up the fan to the +5V of a USB 2.0 port on the laptop to save the owner from replacing the motherboard. It's not a perfect solution but can keep the laptop from overheating and save the owner hundreds.
I have a gaming laptop(hp Pavillion power 15) that got 2 fans. Last week I got a error that the fan is not operating properly and yes it got some jet like sound & only one fan was having the problem ,I have ordered a new fan with the same specs of the laptop . when I disambbled the old one with the new one and power it 'ON' it started spinning only for few second then it stopped after the windows logo appeared, only one fan was spinning the other one looks dead(new one). I tried interchanging fans position and the new one works perfectly but the second slot is having some problems I think, but when I tried to updating my bios the 2 fans were working at full speed then second fan stopped as soon it finished updating. I have been searching all through the internet but I didn't find a single clue . PLEASE HELP!!! (SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH)
