Resolved Question

My Laptop died and won't turn back on. (RESOLVED)

Sep 17, 2018 10:15PM PDT

-UPDATE : I took in my computer and found out it was a motherboard failure.

My MSI gaming laptop suddenly died when I was playing Sniper Elite 3, and now it won't turn back on. It was connected to power, and I have not had any power issues. I had noticed that the computer had given me a very pixeled whiteish screen once before (not sure if this is related to this problem) and it had given me a blue screen of death twice (again not sure if this is related) these things happened a couple of months before this problem. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you! The laptop is about 2 to 3 years old.

While it could have failed, try the usual.

I do not expect the no power up issue to be a fan or drive, I have traced such to CMOS batteries being too low. But for now let's try the usual.

Remove power from the laptop, remove the battery then press and hold the power button for 60 seconds. Release, slip in the battery and apply the charger. Test.

If it still fails to power up, try a new CMOS battery. And NO I never wrote that's it but it's the cheapest thing it can be. After this get repair estimates.
