My ipod won't connect to wifi network

Jan 15, 2010 3:24AM PST

I know there are other threads out there that have the same problem, but the situation is that my ipod used to connect then suddenly it stopped. All of my other friends get access to this network and they don't have a problem, but my ipod will not connect, the wpa code that i have for the network is the correct one and i don't have access to the router. everyone else's ipod connects but mine. Is there a way to fix this on the ipod without possibly restoring it, or will that not help either? thanks

Still not working

The problem still exists. I did that numerous times and then even restored the touch...thank goodness for backup and it still doesn't work. Do you think that someone specifically blocked my iPod...if that's possible?

that it will not connect to?

Is this the ONLY wireless network that it does it to?

Have you tried any other hot spots around town?

Answer : If your I Touch won't connect.

My son I Touch suddenly stopped connecting to our wireless network after almost a year. He tried everything then found out that he had to reset his networks settings, It fixed it immediately. Also if you are connecting to a wireless network, have the person in control of that network put your mac address into the networks router page. This will enable you to always be connected to that network when you are in range of it. All 3 of my sons have all their wifi capable electronics connected this way. Hope this help

Putting the MAC address of the device

into the networks router page does nothing for the iPod.

By default, the iPhone and iPods will connect to a wireless network, without asking, if they are in range and have been connected to it once before.
