Paul,
I tried your suggestion and it worked for all my .jpegs, but not the .bmps. The .bmps opened in Coffeecup when I double click them, but they still have the Photoshop icons.
I redownloaded Coffeecup free player again to see if that would change the icons, but it didn't.
Coffeecup is kind of strange in that it does not install itself in Program Files or anywhere else but right from the start menu, from what I could find.
I decided to check out Coffeecup more, as I never had to before. I found under the "Tools Tab" the option to Manage Associations. This is what FINALLY worked. I put checks in all the boxes including .jpeg and .bmp. I should have thought about this before.
Coffeecup is the opposite of the icon hijacking Photoshop. It even has the option to: "Restore the associated application before this application was installed." I have never seen this on any program.
I really like Coffecup and it's free, and you can do a lot with it. Check it out if you have a chance.
Now if I could just get my Road Runner desktop icon to look like Wile E Coyotes nemesis again, instead of the generic icon MS decided it should be, I'd be as happy as a clam.
Thank you Paul and Tufenuf for all your help!
