My HP Pavilion zd8000 is malfunctioning...I think...

Ok, so, whenever I start my computer now, I am greeted by a screen that tells me Windows was turned off improperly, and I must choose whether to restart Windows normally, or in Safe Mode. Regardless of which option I choose, I am eventually taken to a blue screen that only appears for about 0.5 seconds. It has words on it, but the only words I was able to read in that time were: "Check for hardware that may have been installed improperly." Then, I am taken back to the screen which tells me Windows was turned off improperly, and that I have to choose between a normal Windows restart, or Safe Mode. What is wrong with my computer?

Does this happen after you have turned off the computer through the Start menu?

Check for device conflicts. Could be bad memory. Run memte

Dood, if u still got the warranty, have a nice long chat with HP for selling that to u. I'm 1000% sure thats a BSOD, something that usually is caused by a hardware or software error. I bought a pc full of them and had to replace the motherboard to fix it... If its under warranty: tell them to fix it.. You may need to send it in.. Yeah, memory can be it, but if its under warranty check with them.
