And to save folk from asking, "XP" is rarely seen today. I bet you are running XP SP2 or XP SP3. "XP" has some limitations.
Bob
my hp g3010 scanner started giving trouble in that it wouldn't start in response to any of the 4 buttons on the front being pressed a couple of weeks ago so i eventually did a complete un-install, connected a new data cable and re-installed following the instructions line by line. i re-booted the computer and as soon as i pressed the far left button, the following message came up on screen ... "An error occured communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is properly connected and try again."
the connections were double -checked and the exercise was re-done. after the 6th. attempt with the same result coming on-screen each time, i am at a total loss as to what the problem is.
previously to this, the scanner has performed perfectly, and hasn't been dropped or knocked. i am running windows xp.
can anyone help me please? i'm a bit desperate.
thank you in anticipation ...
michael.
