my hp 840 g2 laptop wont accept any bootable OS flash drives

Hello everyone, my HP 840 g2 laptop won’t boot any bootable USB flash drives, this problem occurred 1 month ago, I have a Samsung SSD installed and I’m sure it’s not a bad drive issue because I tried another SSD and it still WONT boot my windows 10 bootable, I just want to reinstall windows with this bootable USB, I also ran all hardware diag test and they all PASSED!, and I’m sure it’s not the bootable, I already installed windows on another computer with it and reinstalled windows with in the bootable just to make sure, I used the Rufus tool to create the bootable as well . Some input would greatly be appreciated thank you

I don't have this model or series to test out. Did you try DVD as well? I find HP iffy at times and have to fall back on DVD boots.

I think I might have something close.

I have the Probook 6560b. It looks exactly the same and mine is the i5 model. Let me get more detail with a Web Speccy so you can see if it's just a rebrand or name change.

I have to wait about 10 minutes since it was on the shelf and the battery has drained. BBL

OK. It works fine. Here's what I used and what keys.

1. The bootable W10 made with the Media Creation Kit. NO, I have never used Rufus. I will not since I choose to never support another way. Some get mad at me that I won't do this.

2. My HP 6960b is all stock afaik in the BIOS so there's that.

3. With the power off I plug my USB W10 install and recovery key in the right most front USB port. It's just USB 2.0 or "legacy." Again, there is NO BIOS changes I made since I got this laptop.

4. Power up and at the HP splash with the Press Esc screen I spam the F9 key and it changes to boot options. I select the USB drive and W10 boots from USB ready to install.

I'll reply with links to the screens.

Needs to disable Windows Update sharing. I only use this for demos and travel.
