Question

My hard drive says it's empty but I know it's almost full

Apr 19, 2012 6:47AM PDT

Hi, out of the blue, I've lost the ability to see the files on my hard drive. I plug it in and there are no files at all. I know my data is on there because when I go to Properties I can see that the hard drive is 92% full. I did a file check and there weren't any issues.

I noticed however, in Properties, that the File System says Fat32. Is that right? Is that the issue?

Any ideas? Thank you!

Answer
There is malware that hides the files.

I followed your directions but it didn't work

Hi, Thanks for the assitance and suggestions. I followed all the instructions on the links but the Malware and the Anti-Spy both said there was nothing wrong with my harddrive. I still can't see anything on it although I know it's full of data.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Didn't read if you used Grif's UNHIDE.EXE advice.

Here's that and after that you consider using your backup copies to start over.

And I didn't note the top of this forum recovery software because it's the top post in this forum.

Here's Grif with unhide.
