General discussion

My great Hewlett-Packard experience.

Apr 8, 2005 3:54AM PDT

I'm from Singapore.I'm writing to share about my great Hewlett-Packard experience.

I sent an iPAQ PDA for repair on 23 March 2005. The machine kept hanging from the day I used it, and the LCD broke down as well soon after.
On 29 March 2005, the iPAQ was returned to me after being repaired. And what did I find? The front cover was chipped in two places. When these things happened, one would expect Hewlett-Packard to come clean and rectify or replace if necessary. Obviously doing the right thing is not Hewlett-Packard's policy.

The iPAQ was resent back to the service centre. When I called the service centre about the issue, I spoke to a wall. Mr. Omar even needed me to tell him which day of the week it was as I spoke. He said he would call later in the day to inform me when the iPAQ would be returned. He never did call.

I called the Hewlett-Packard Singapore Head Office to lodge a complaint. I was told by one Margaret that the correct person to handle my complaint was out for lunch and would call me back. That person never did call either. The next morning I called again to ask why nobody bothered to call back to address my complaint. I was put on hold, with the music ringing in my ears, for a long time. I decided to end the call. They have
my number, let them call me, I thought. Did they? Never.

The insult and abuse that was shown by Hewlett-Packard will never be forgotten.

My iPAQ continues to hang for no reason.

If you send me an email, I'll file your complaint thru the HP internal customer complaint process. I'm sorry that you've had a bad experience.

Please send to al33-time@usa.net

HP Pavilion dv6000
Apr 13, 2008 10:23PM PDT

I am also a disgruntled customer and was treated poorly by HP. I purchased a lap top dv6000 and after 7 months the hard disk died. I called HP help line only to be on the phone for 2 1/2 hours, possibly longer because I lost track of consciousness. I voiced my problem with computer, was put on hold with a service ticket number, and routed and rerouted! Then I was told that I was one of the unlucky whose hard drive decided to die before 3 years, luck of the draw as it was explained. I know this is a common issue as I have seen many other complaints when I went online and put the error code my comp was displaying when it failed to come out of disk repair mode. After 2 1/2 hours (or more) of listening to people I can't understand who insisted speaking Spanish to me after telling them for 5 minutes I don't, the solution is this; I've lost all my pics, music, and personal documents that I have no way of replacing and they will send me a refurbished hard disk (probably from some other "unlucky" person like me) to install myself. I will never, never recommend any HP products ever to anyone, not even someone I don't like. I am extremely upset, disappointed and down right disgusted. I know this complaint may mean nothing to HP but I work in a field where we test cell phones and computers and recommend or not recommend products to others, so this one unlucky disgruntled customer might equal more.

Hi guy,
This reply has nothing to do with your problem, but I saw you are from Singapore and I could not avoid asking for your help.
I live in Spain and my wife and I are travelling to Singapore soon. I want to buy electronics devices there (dvd portable players, ipod, notebook? mobile phone, well things like this), but I'd like to check the web, in order to choose between the different devices.
Of course I know Sony, Panasonic, etc, but there are others brands, like SHINCO, for example, less known or unknown in my country , but well known in yours.
You know most of the times these less known brands have better and cheaper devices. Unfortunately, from these brands I don't even know the name or neither the web page.
I realize this is a favour, but all the information you could give would be extremely appreciated.
Best regards
Antonio Lopez
