I want to get into nature photography during my hikes. I wanted a dslr camera under 1000$ that could capture great shots of the landscape from flowers to lakes and mountains.
I need help decideing which one would be better for me.

Both are popular and both are very good choices.

Which is best?

Both!

I suggest you go to a camera store and get your hands on both.
Buy the one that feels best in your hands.

The thing that produces a GREAT SHOT is the person holding the camera.
The more you learn about photography, the better your pictures will be.

I agree that the great shot depends on the person who took it. I know some people who have very expensive and high end camera and lenses but couldn't make the most of their cameras. I got interested with taking pictures when I had my first point and shoot and over time I observed that how my pictures look like is improving. That's when I started saving for a dslr. We're the same I like landscapes too and I read somewhere that Nikon is good at that ut you also have to be good at editing
