Downloading new drivers is not enough. You must install them also. But what makes you think the old driver stopped functioning out of the blue?
Go back to factory conditions. If there is no hardware issue, it should work again. And that means that if it doesn't work then, it's a hardware issue. Then let it fix under warranty.
If it's mysteriously solved by going back to factory conditions, better make a regular image backup to go back to if it mysteriously happens again.
I have a near brand new Lenova 5 flex that had a print scanner that worked great. Then one day about a month after I bought it, the scanner just stopped doing anything.
I can easily type in my pin but I miss that scanner for logging into the system and I imagine it will be handy for some shopping and apps in the future.
I have tried to download new drivers but nothing. I'm truly stumped why it would just stop working. Maybe a setting somewhere that I missing turned it off.
