Question

My Files are infected with the virus........

Apr 13, 2014 5:10PM PDT

When ever I am trying to open the files , the files in my PC are partially or completely overwritten by the virus. I am worried that the file-infecting virus can also spread across the system and over the network to infect other systems.
I am worried about my files stored in my hard drive.

That's quite understandable that you're worried.

The things to do:
1. Disconnect from the network, so you get a stand-alone PC.
2. Reinstall Windows (back to factory conditions).
3. Scan the files on your backup using a bootable antivirus disk.
4. Restore the now clean data from your backup.

Best of luck.

I am the Tech Support Engineer but I am having experience of 2 Years. I have gone through your procedure again, while I have gone through these procedure earlier, but the files are infected are in still corrupted so how could I restore them after backup or after running antivirus. I have the backup of unaffected files, but not having backup of effected files. Help me out for infected files.

If you can't remove a virus from a file, you'll have to delete it. If you have no backup, you lose it. That's quite simple.

How to remove a virus from a file (if none of the antivirus programs can do it for you) depends on the file and the infection. And since you don't tell about what files and what infections, it's impossible to tell more. But maybe your more experienced colleagues (senior tech support engineers) can help you?

Thanking You

Thank you for the suggestion, but I can't disclose this issue with my colleagues or seniors, this issue is evolved by me and I only have to resolve the issue. Some of my issue has been resolved by me because I have kept some file on my shared drive, even though there are some issues which I have to resolve it.
