Apple usually has it's own file system and since I can't find the make/model TV I'm going to ask you to copy what file system the HDTV uses here to save back and forth posts.

data lost

Hello, the more likely situation is data losing while you are inserting it to tv.
Try 4Card Recovery to restore your data first.
Step 1. Download it on your computer and install it.
Step 2. Start it and select the files that you want to recover.
Step 3. Scan it and wait for a few moment.
Step 4. Save your recovered data on other place.
Try it.
Remember: Do not erase the old data before fully recovering. Otherwise you will loss it forever.
