my experience with HP support

by blacow86 / July 27, 2007 6:18 AM PDT

I used to bought a HP PC from Fry's Electronics, it becomes a nightmare.

After I added a PATA data disk, PC always boots from this non-OS disk, every time I need to use ESC to manually choose original SATA/XP to boot from. My change of BIOS settings seems not saved and no effect.

Then I sent an case request to HP service center and got an email seems written by K5 kid - may be auto mail. I searched all around HP internet at the time and cannot get a live person. I emailed back, and replies are all want to sell sth.

Until recently, I got a remind email says my warrantee will be expired. I use the phone num attached to get contacted (becasue this is a upgrade service number), a lady tried 15minutes to sell me sth, then at last I'm transferred to service dept.

Service dept lady understood my complain, then gave me two choices to pay to fix the problem. I told her my case is issued several months ago when my PC still in warrantee, and the case never closed. It is HP product quality problem and it would be fixed for free, and I won't spent a penny on HP anymore before it can show responsibility.

I told her, I simply want HP to fix this bug, I already gave up the hope as HP never helps me. In return to this, the lady told me a link I can download BIOS - yet it is a 2005 old, no help BIOS that I tried before!

How did you add a PATA drive to a laptop?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
