Well -- And this is just a wild guess -- But maybe the Dell website would have drivers for a Dell laptop. Or the CD that's bundled with laptops that says it has "Drivers and Utilities" on it. Contrary to popular belief, Windows doesn't install that many drivers for you.
I recently installed a new hard drive on my Inspiron E1405. Starting from a completely clean slate, I re-installed all of the drivers included with the installation cd. Then I installed Windows XP. But the screen is nowhere near as bright as when I first received the cpu from the factory! What gives? The colors on the screen are not rich, it seems dull and pixelated, and the overall scren brightness is laking. I also can no longer use the cover flow feature in iTunes. It says there's some sort of ActiveX error.
Is tere something wrong wih my video driver? Can you please point me in the right direction of ALL factory-original video drivers for this Inspiron E1405? I just want my cpu to be as bright and vibrant as it was when I first bought it.
Thanks in advance.
