my dvd rom that wont work

the dvd rom that came with my computer stopped working when i installed a cd burner

Most common "oops"?

1. Power not connected.

2. Jumpers not correct.

3. IDE cable partially connected.

i dont know how to make sure the jumper is right but everything else is hooked up right

Check the instructions with the new drive.

In this case, it's likely to be on 40 conductor IDE cables. You'll want one drive on master and the next one to be slave.
