My Dell PC turns on and off again

I've got a dell inspiron pc which is just over two years old .
Went to turn it on yesterday and it turns off straight away and it keeps doing it i unplugged. It fom the mains and still the same thing happens. Sounds like a car turning over but not firing up.
Any ideas please ?

Try it without the battery.

But given so little to work with it sounds like your next call is to Dell to arrange for repair.
