Question

My custom build computer will start, but won't show video

As I said before, my computer won't show any video through the monitor and from what i can tell, the computer is all wired correctly.

A few ideas.

1. Tell us about the power to the video card.

2. Did you build it in stages? Cardboard for a few parts? Etc.

I have the video card getting a power supply from the motherboard and 2 8-pin plugs coming directly from the power supply.

Yes I built it in stages, but no, I did not use cardboard.

No drives, 1 stick of RAM, just the CPU+HSF, video card, PSU no video?

If so, check jumpers and connections.

For example one or more boards came with the hookup instructions botched. You only need the PWR ON connected.
