Your CPU gets hot because it needs to do a lot when playing the game. http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-A8-Series%20A8-6600K%20-%20AD660KWOA44HL.html shows the maximum operating temperature is 74 degrees (Celsius), so you certainly should do something about it.

Setting the screen to a lower resolution might help. And it certainly is useful to check the cooling of the CPU (both the thermal paste and the fans). http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2322498/amd-6600k-temp-high-109c.html shows that adding a cooler can help also.
Does another monitoring program show the same temp?

Not OK.

If it can't be explained by background programs that are running, I'd find a repair shop to fix it.

Heat
May 17, 2015 1:33AM PDT

As Kees stated, no it isn't OK. The overheating could be created by several things, the first thing to look at is system cooling, CPU fan and other cooling fans within the system. That is not to say that it might not be created by something else, as Kees noted, too many items running in conjunction with games etc., There is also the possibility that it might be, in part, related to a malware infestation. At any rate, as he said, I'd get it look at because eventually the system will likely fry itself.

Download and run PCWizard to see what the various temps
May 17, 2015 3:14AM PDT

are specifically for the CPU, GPU, etc.

Then get some compressed air, open up the PC and blow the accumulated dust.

Put the side back on and recheck the temps thru PCWizard.

If it's still running hot...remove the side and rerun PCWizard.

Let us know what you find.

CPU gets hot, may be your system has caught up some virus. So try to reinstall window.

If it only happens when playing games, that seems unlikely.

cooler check

As it was told it is totally not OK. you need to upgrade your cooler, or make it work faster
