Question

My copy of Windows 7 Home is legit but its Codewont Activate

Sep 9, 2015 7:46AM PDT

I just had Windows 7 reinstalled on my computer when it was brought into the shop and I took it home and tried to upgrade it to Window's 10 but I can't because Window's 7 isn't even activated... I tried the activate now option in the control panel but it say's invalid code to activate. Cyberworks (the place I brought it to) would not have use a fraudulent key and I called them and they said they will take care of it for no charge if I bring it in but I was wondering if that is the only way... it has been in the shop and out of my hands for long enough, I don't know a # to call to Microsoft for this or what to even say... I do know what the code in my win registry says however. Please help if you can, even if that help is telling me I have no choice but to bring it back in.

The thing is, activation issues are Microsoft's to solve.

As to numbers to call MSFT, that's on the web but let's keep this simple. Windows 7 still comes on DVD with a package and code. If there is no DVD, package and code then it's too likely it's not a legit version.

So, let's check that basic item. Do you have the Windows 7 DVD and packaging?
