My computer was working fine one night, now wont turn on

nothing happens at all when i push the power button, however the back of the computer when the ethernet cable is plugged in it still lights up. Ive opened it up and checked everything was connected inside and it all seems fine.

Dead system

Have you tried another A/C source? That would be the first thing to try. If that is not the issue then I would be very suspicious of the PSU, they do fail and often in a pretty sudden manner.

PSU

Thanks for the response....Yeah ive tried a different A/C source and same problem...If the PSU was the problem would the light where the internet cable is plugged in still be able to light up?

Light

That is the ethernet hook up and it likely would be since there is still power to your hook up.
