My Computer freezes

Mar 9, 2004 12:16PM PST

My computer freezes very often and shows some messages with blue screen.

One of the message is:
An Error has occured. To Continue Press Enter to restart to windows, or press CTRL + ALT + DEL to retart your computer. If you do this you will lose any unsaved information in all open applications.

Error: OE : 01A7 : BFF78831

I have no idea why it shows like this.

My computer has Windows Me 2000. My two previous computers crashed showing same type of symtoms. Whenever I browsed internet it froze and finally crashed.

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks and God bless
Sherly

Does this happen after you do something or is it random? When did it start doing this?

Other things you could try:
1)Make sure your Windows is up-to-date
2)Scan for spy ware (I recommend Ad-aware http://www.lavasoft.de/english/default.shtml)
3)Scan for viruses (make sure virus patterns are up-to-date)
4)Make sure your PC is in a well ventilated area.

Check in Device Mgr for the type of Display Adapter you have (video card...mfr and model number), and get the newest drivers for it.

If on the net and certain sites require Flash or Java, make sure you have the newest version as your copy may be corrupt.
