Question

my computer deleted things and is acting strange

by MelanieCM / July 1, 2011 11:40 PM PDT

Hi...My computer is acting weird...I'm on a pc: Microsoft Windows XP, Media Center Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3 Manufactured & Supported by: eMachines, T6520, AMD Athlon? 64 Processor, 3400+, 2.39GHz,896 MBof RAM. About a year ago I had trouble with itunes that Apple helped me with. We spent hours on the phone ,then they had to check with engineering, I believe? After much time uninstalling all itune components ( there was 1 part that wouldn't delete easily...it took many attempts and troubleshooting). Then after reinstalling I was able to use itunes again. In the middle of May I bought more tunes and added to my exsisting library. I was able to download and burn a cd w/o problems. About 4 weeks ago I seem to no longer even have an acct. again, and my purchases are all gone. So I tried to troubleshoot and I found my "favorites" list deleted as well, but when I start over adding to my list and use the same folder name, it says that folder already exists. Also I cannot access my "accessories" to get to system tools etc for cleanup, from the start menu as usual. I have to search for it. And strangely, on my desk top, I noticed 1/2 my icons that have alot of white in them are pink tinged, but 1/2 are not?
I update and run Malwarebytes & Avast free, weekly and delete temporary files, cookies often as well. No virus has shown. And my computer often, when signing in to my email says the internet connection was lost but I'm still connected in other windows so I know I have a connection. It also "loses" or interrupts the connection frequently then automatically "recovers" a tab. I was told my computor may be "crashing" so I backed up my files. There's also lots of free space still available.
Any ideas or suggestions? Do I really lose my library and purchases for itunes? Thank you in advance for any answers you can give me.
Melanie

Please do not post serial numbers in public forums! That helps pirates use them for fake Windows' disks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
