by itzrew / August 13, 2007 8:06 PM PDT

hey everybody.
basically, when i turn my computer on it asks me to choose it to start in safe mode, last good settings, run windows normal. And it says which one I should pick depending on my situation, but the problem is, no matter which one ive selected, it just freezes and nothing happens. wat happened ? the last thing that happened before this started occuring was the mouse stopped working and the computer was restarted.
Any advice please ?

What OS?

What operating system? Have you cleaned out the case? Added any hardware or software before this happened? If you can't start in any mode, try the Recovery Console from the operating system CD. Run a chkdsk. Or you might install it as a slave in another PC.

its Windows XP. The last thing that happened before hand was the mouse plug got pulled out. Then the computer was restarted using the keyboard. and since that happened this problem occured.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
