My choices for Broadband?

Jul 10, 2009 4:32PM PDT

Hello,
I just cancelled my TWC Roadrunner service. What are my choices for broadband internet, OTHER THAN Cable, Satellite, DSL? I don't want and I can't have any contract commitment because I'm moving overseas in a few months for at least 6 months.

Thanks!

How about a mobile broadband solution?

How about trying one of the mobile broadband providers?

Depending on your area you can most likely get a short term contract of a few months or a contract free agreement that gets you broadband speeds on the go.

My site has a comparison function that allows you to see these providers side by side to see which one best suits your needs.

Check it out here: http://www.wirelessinternetreviews.com/compare

If you are going no contract you will most likely need to purchase the usb modem outright but there are usually affordable options available.

The best part about it is that you can use the service anywhere and still get the really fast speeds you were used to on Road Runner.

Hope that helps.

Mobile broadband

Hi Al, thanks very much for the info!

I just checked the site (very useful site!) and all mobile broadband providers require a contract, except for Clearwire and Criquet, which unfortunately don't serve my area (NYC).

Btw, why do you think the speeds even compare to RoadRunner? I wouldn't expect them to, and they don't Happy

Have you tried researching what will be available overseas? for instance in the UK, there are prepay deals on mobile broadband through networks such as 3 and T Mobile?
