My Celeron, 900 Mhz will NOT "RUN" withe the 512MBSDRAM (64x64, pci133 TECH%? HELP!

Mar 1, 2004 11:42AM PST

I am trapped in the Gateway "snare". I am doing my best to get past the "INEGRATION" (I bought an ATI Radeon, and a "decent" soundboard, (just to take me to my "uptown" amp anyway!)
Hell- I even added a dual formatDVD burner (back when they weren't cheap!), 80 gigs inside, and 80 more outside. Add those to the 20 it came with, and well, I CAN remember my password! (Usually-but it's still taped under the keyboard!). Granted the 180 gigs of ROM does little for my speed, WHY WON'T THEY LET ME(or IS there a way?) to make this sweet little "512 SDRAM from Simpletech "work? It WILL start it up but it just keeps shuting it off. I JUST dida total scrub and I'm a meathead so THAT was a two-week ordeal-involving ANYONE I knew tha didn't spal "computr with a K"! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

It's unlikely to be a XP issue. Did you consider that such upgrades often require a power supply upgrade as well?

hi ya

more often than not Gateway does not want you to upgrade. They want you to get another box.

I have been working around there stuff for the past 8 years.

They only do just do enough to make a sale.

It is not an XP issue.

You need the info from the Mobo to find out what type of ram it will handle and how much.
