Resolved Question

My Buddy has an old

Dell Inspirion( not sure of the spelling) he told me that he had a neighbor get rid of a virus for him and ended up formatting the hard drive, Big Dummy Doesn't Have a Restore Disc!!!! Had XP on it. My question is , if I downloaded a Linux os to a disc, would I be able to load it into his hard drive? I would just try it but he's about 60 miles away so thought I should ask someone before I make the drive. Thanx........Digger
