My brand new laptop keeps freezing and crashing

by the3rdwall / June 24, 2012 4:38 AM PDT

My new HP laptop, which has Windows 7 64bit, an intel i7 core. It freezes up when running all kind of software, notably iTunes, media viewing of any kind, and Google Chrome. Software will refuse to open and ultimately the entire computer will freeze up, my only option is using the switch to shut it down. It actually froze the first time I tried to submit this.

It can run any one software for any time between 15 minute and an hour without crashing, and it seems to be worse when multiple thing are running. It has even frozen while playing the screensaver.

Can anyone help?
