General discussion

My baby girl is 21 years old today

Apr 27, 2005 8:00AM PDT

Time gets away. I had to leave a message on her machine in her dorm room and send her an e-mail greeting. What a different world we live in. I'm not sure which one of these fits better today. Happy or Sad

"Turn Around"
Apr 27, 2005 9:25PM PDT

"Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Where are you goin' my baby my own?
Turn around and you're two
Turn around and you're four
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out of the door

(chorus)
Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you're a young girl
Going out of the door

Where are you goin' my little one, little one?
Little Dirndles and petticoats, where have you gone?
Turn around and you're tiny
Turn around and you're grown
Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own

(chorus)
Turn around
Turn around
Turn around and you're a young wife
With babes of your own "

(repeat first chorus)

Mine is in her late 40's. It doesn't get any better, Steven. It seems like yesterday when she turned 21... 16... 12....6.....

Ahhh, yes ... Time gets away

I know what you mean, Steven. We are preparing for Orion's graduation from High School on June 4th. It just doesn't seem like he should be that old (or me!).

In my eyes, I see him as the 18 y.o. handsome young man that he is today. In my heart, he will always be my little boy that would curl up next to me as we read stories and laughed together.

Happy Birthday to your daughter, and bless her Daddy, too, for loving her so much Happy

... I know it's tough Dad! Just think, you'll be entering that age where she probably admits you were right about something while she was growing up Wink

Admitting that I was right???? Never!

There's been too much maternal influence for that to happen.Happy We have some nice talks at times and she's like any kid who's learned a little and thinks they know it all. But, if a dollars worth or tuition yields an ounce of smarts, she passed Curie and Einstein long ago.Wink
