my at&t yahoo dial up connection speed is down to 12000 kbps

it's 1:24 a.m. and i finally connected at 16,800. HELP

cable and dsl not available - if it slows down any more, i think i'll walk 10 mi. to library.

can anyone help?? do accelators really work - obvious problem is distance.

feds should require minimum connection speeds!! tyvm

Actually pretty fair speed for dial up.

Accelerators are usually spyware and don't work. Anyone that tells you theirs does work usually has some agenda.

When you say 12000 kbps you mean 12000bps.

12000 kbps well there is a mistake. Sorry to say but most likely what you mean is 12000bps. And that is not a fast speed at all. So you should set the maximum speed up higher. So if you have 56K modem then it should be set to 56000bps. Know this the FCC regulations prevents 56K modems from connecting over 53Kbps. There is a command you can put in the initialization string just to make it look like you are connected faster which is AT&FX which is kind of pointless it just displays you are connected at double the speed you really are connected at. Mainly because where high speed isn't available there is 2 options which is Satellite or Wireless. Now either way depending on your location it isn't going to be cheap. And here is the cost of the previous person's post
