Try 60 seconds.
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=9625784&SRCCODE=cnet notes a refurb is 399 so repair OOW (out of warranty) can exceed that.
As there is nothing to lose, open it up and unplug the ram and reseat just one stick, retest with one stick. Add the second if it comes back.
A lot of new laptops are shipping in just a few weeks so I doubt repair will beat replacement costs.
I like to extend warranties when I know I don't want to pay for OOW.
Hello guys. Just bought wife a ASUS Q301L about a year ago. The computer all of a sudden will not come on. I looked up on other forums on how to solve the problem and have tried everything. I took the battery out, held the power button for 30 seconds, put the battery back in, but nothing works. The lights come on for 5 seconds but go back off. Battery also shows when its charging. The warranty ran out after a year, so im looking for any help before i decide to send it off and pay a ton for the repairs.
