My Apologies to Angeline and the ladies of SE

Mar 2, 2004 11:43AM PST

For my gender biased attempt at humor in the Volvo thread. After getting home where I was able to go on line and read the article I realized how off target the comments were. Actually the ladies came up with a few really innovative ideas. I meant no disrespect. I really did forget my medication this morning (7 different pills) and I think it impaired my judgement. No harm done???

Actually, Patrick............

.....I thought it was pretty dang humorous - reading all you guys' remarks. Happy We women (well, at least a lot of the ones I know), don't seem to have any problem with cracking jokes and one-liners about guys. We need to be able to take it as well as we give.

In fact, a good portion of what y'all said in that thread was true!!!!!

I wish I had a tank of gas

for each time I've nearly been sideswiped by a woman brushing her hair in the rear view while driving to work. For men, it's aggressive driving that bothers me. I just let them by ASAP and hope the cop is over the corner. Once in a great while I'm made happy to see it so. Now, if I just had a cell phone zapper!

There is one.

Wink, but it costs $300. Sad

Course it's illegal to, but wouldn't it be great to see the look on the talker's face?

Hi, J.

Unfortunately, many women drivers below 40 or so now drive as aggressively as men -- and many drive what were once called "muscle cars!"

I thought some of the ideas were pretty good - even for guys ;-)

I liked the idea of auto pilot for parallel parking.

Having the two fills next to each other is silly. When a cop can't tell the difference between a gun and taser and shoots a suspect rather than tasering him, can you imagine the problems with this?

Being in the northeast with all the salt and mud, I also like the dirt-repellant paint and glass.

What for?

Hi, Patrick,

I read your posts, and thoroughly enjoyed them. In fact, there was a lot of truth in them!

Especially the part about purses- I gave that a 15 on a scale of 1-10. Happy

When the kids were growing up, my car was an unlicensed garbage truck.

I don't like pumping my own gas. I really liked having my windshield cleaned, my tires checked. The hood on my '88 Toyota hasn't been raised once in 6 years- to put in washer fluid. (It doesn't use or drip oil.) I just take it in every few years to have the Toyota guys go over it stem to stern, and to stick in a new battery, change the radiator fluids. tune-up if necessary, etc. It's time to buy a new set of tires, just because they are 6-7 years old.

I buy my gas from one station. That way I know whom to blame if I get dirty gas.

In the 70's I was cursed with a lemon, and got the run-around at the service desk. So, I then took a tape recorder, and laid it prominently on the desk to record our words. . I can testify that is a wise tactic!

No apology is in order, Patrick! I'm not a libber, and believe we should be able to laugh at ourselves.

I hope it's not 6 years between oil changes.

Wink Ouch! Those oil change places are handy.

I remembered reading a post in the last week or so where someone mentioned the ladies weren't getting respect in the forum and realized I may have crossed that line. Anyway - I took my pills today so I'm back to my normal psychotic self Happy
