My 52 inch plasma Samsung refuses to turn on. It tries

by Evian123 / July 3, 2009 2:20 PM PDT

I turned the tv on and it didn't turn on. It tries to turn on but nothing happens. There is no sound but an occasional popping noise. The blue ring around the on and off switch blinks. It was working perfectly all these days with no apparent problems. What could be the problem? The model number of this tv is HP-R5072. It is a plasma 52 inch tv. How much can I expect to pay to have this tv repaired? Could this be do to some firmware being broadcasted?

Evian123,

The firmware itself would have to be installed, and for that specific unit, there is no firmware available. I can't quote prices, because I'm not service, but you can reach the service department at 800-SAMSUNG and they can assign someone in your area. You are free to shop around, of course, but it's likely something internal is wrong with your unit.

Samsung tv tries to turn on but is able...now it is working
by Evian123 / July 6, 2009 4:20 AM PDT

It is now working. I had it unplugged for a couple of hours and it is now up and running. Someone mentioned that firmware is sometimes transmitted. When it is transmitted your tv will act up. I didn't believe it but I guess they are right. It hasn't refused to start for two days now. I keep it unplugged at nights now. It is hooked up to a power surge stripe that allows me to turn it off.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
