Question

My 238 GB Tablet Laptop has 237 GB used

Jul 17, 2017 4:26PM PDT

My Sony Vaio Tablet Laptop Duo II Touch Screen Computer has 237 GB used of 238 GB. It originally came with Windows 8.1 but with all the Windows 10 Upgrades plus the program upgrades, work etc I'm almost out of space. I tried moving pictures, videos, music to a portable drive to make room but the Setting / Storage continues to read 237 GB. A few weeks ago I wanted to add a new program and was told by seller that it only works on the Computer itself and not an external drive.
Forgot to mention the Computer has an SSD Drive and Intel 7 Processor.
Can I use an external drive which acts as part of my computer to run programs moving some of them to this drive or should I purchase another laptop with more disk space.
I'm afraid the whole computer will crash soon.
Dee

Thank you for replying - I'm going to read on removing old Windows versions. I did remove Trash and did cleanup computer files but it did not help. I'll let you know what happened - hopefully I'll get back a lot of space.

After a clean install of W10 on the 128GB SSD there was 99GB free. You have 248GB so the space is used by something. Go find it with Treesize by Kees.
